A Nodal Shift while Venus transforms
The current Venus Star point in Gemini, occurred last week on June 3rd marking a significant shift in our creativity and ability to manifest from heart-space.
With Venus now beginning her next loop, she is transitioning from an evening star as she approached the setting Sun, to a morning star, where she will herald the Sun's rising.
As an evening star, she symbolises feminine beauty; as a morning star, she is the Warrior Goddess. In a sense, Venus' retrograde is a Venus 'rebirth', a new beginning.
A planet retrograde signifying new beginning may come as a surprise because you may have heard of all things you should NOT do when Mercury (or any other planet) is retrograde. However, Venus actually starts a new cycle when retrograde so it makes sense it comes with new beginnings. The process of re-assessing in the retrograde is the impetus for the new in moving forward from the 26th June. When Venus was conjunct the Sun (in the early hours on Thursday), her Star Point, this also signified a time for new beginnings being seeded with Venus in the 'heart of the Sun'. This can also be a time of confusion. When Venus is conjunct the Sun, she is “invisible” in the glare of the Sun. Things may not be what they seem. But now, more than ever, it is important to listen to our heart.
We'll be able to see her again in late June as a bright morning star in the period before dawn. She'll be sitting with the Fixed Star Aldebaran, the brightest star in the Taurus constellation, as the Bull's eye. This too holds great symbolism, as Aldebaran is one of the four Royal Stars of Persia where it marked the spring equinox, signifying fortune, honour and wealth. For now, she has gone into the Underworld realm where she transforms, signifying that something within us must die so that a new version of ourselves can emerge. And then, as Venus appears as a morning star, a new you can emerge. This is the time to rebirth our hearts to create a world led by Love, instead of fear. Also so important at this time, is the shift in the Nodal Axis. It does this every 18 months and represents an important development for humanity as a collective karmic shift. Just as you were born during a particular Nodal Axis, all children born in the next 18 months will have a particular karmic signature. The South Node is always the more obvious of the axis; it is natural to the person because it is the soul energy brought in to the current life. However, it holds unresolved karma that the individual is here to address. The North Node is the evolutionary goal of the Soul; it is not yet realised. Overnight, the Nodal axis shifted from Capricorn-Cancer into the Sagittarius-Gemini axis. There is a lot happening in this axis with Venus' retrograde in Gemini, as well as the eclipse with this morning's Full Moon in Sagittarius - a catalyst to move us in a new direction. As we move into the next 18 months, the unresolved collective karma and dead-end repetitive patterns will see the dark side of Sagittarius play out. We'll see this on two levels, first in the daily headlines; secondly, for the soul-condition of all those born with a South Node in Sagittarius: Dec 14, 1945 – Aug 2, 1947; Aug 26, 1964 – Feb 19, 1966; Mar 17, 1983 – Sep 11, 1984; Oct 14, 2001 – Apr 14, 2003; May 6, 2020 – January 18, 2022. So what we are likely to see is dogmatic and idealistic fanaticism, a 'This (my) way is the only way', and a fierce adherence to certain philosophies and dogmas. We are likely to see the jumping-to-conclusions without proper consideration or checking the facts, self-righteousness and the need to be right, resisting concepts and ideas that do not fit one's belief system and preaching 'truth' without taking others' views into consideration. Evolutionary Astrologer, Steven Forrest, states that the South-Node-in-Sagittarius-individual "...has fallen into patterns of collusion that led to the denial of truths that ran counter to expectations - and it is a short step from fundamentalist Islam or Christianity...to fundamentalist New Age thinking...". There can also be such an adherence to higher Truth that the frailty, complexity and the experience of the human condition are dismissed, and compassion is lost. The remedy, the North Node of Gemini, asks us to stop talking and listen. It asks us to be curious. It asks us to be in wonder of all the different expressions of the Divine in the manifest world. It asks us to know that however we see others and the world, that there is so much more than our own perception of things. It encourages us to ask questions and learn about how others see and experience their lives and the world. While we see Saturn-Pluto fear and control continue to play out, and while we have the opportunity to reassess our values and rebirth a new way of heart-centredness with Venus' transformation, we can use the symbolism of the Nodal shift and stop yelling and start to listen.
To each other and importantly, to our hearts. Blessed be.
